First time I saw the Hudson River frozen, now I kknow the meaning of toxic slush. It was a beautiful sight frozen condoms, celphane wrappers, sneakers, pizza boxes. It was a toxic time capsule. You can tell alot about people by studying their garbage.
Actually the Huson River has been reported to be much cleaner over the past few years. Now you can kyack for free on the Hudso River. I tried this myself last summer. Kyacked off of Governers Island. Its an enclosed area. You have the sanitation department on one side and an abandond army warehouse of some sort on the other side. So your kyacking through garbage and three headed fish.
